FIRST-GENERATION IMMIGRANT SCHOLARSHIP

First-Generation Immigrant Scholarship: About

CMSA is proud to award the First-Generation Immigrant Scholarship to one Texas A&M University student every year.


In order to be eligible for this scholarship, the applicant must: 

  • Be a college freshman, sophomore, or junior.

  • Enroll at Texas A&M University as a full-time student for the upcoming semester

  • Have a GPA of at least 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale)

  • The scholarship will be awarded in the spring semester for the upcoming school year

  • A committee made up of executive board members from CMSA and the Brazos Interfaith Immigration Network (BIIN) will review applications and select the recipient(s)

  • Incomplete applications will not be considered. 

  • Application must be in PDF format.

  • The application must be submitted to cmsa.tamu@gmail.com by April 17 at 11:59pm

  • Recipient(s) will be announced at the CMSA End of the Year Banquet on April 17, 2020

  • Scholarship funds will be paid to the student over the summer and the student is responsible for turning in the check to the financial aid office

  • Any questions about the scholarship can be submitted to cmsa.tamu@gmail.com

All of the funds for this scholarship are raised directly from our community. We are very thankful for those who have donated in the past, and we ask you to donate so our impact may be greater!
